1:1Peter，antleofJesusChrist，tothestrangersscatteredthroughoutPontus，Galatia，Cappadocia，Asia，andBithynia，

1:2ElectaccordingtotheforeknowledgeofGodtheFather，throughsanctificationoftheSpirit，untoobedienceandsprinklingofthebloodofJesusChrist:Graceuntoyou，andpeace，bemultiplied.

1:3BlessedbetheGodandFatherofourLordJesusChrist，whichaccordingtohisabundantmercyhathbegottenusagainuntoalivelyhopebytheresurrectionofJesusChristfromthedead，

1:4Toaninheritanceincorruptible，andundefiled，andthatfadethnotaway，reservedinheavenforyou，

1:5WhoarekeptbythepowerofGodthroughfaithuntosalvationreadytoberevealedinthelasttime.

1:6Whereinyegreatlyrejoice，thoughnowforaseason，ifneedbe，yeareinheavinessthroughmanifoldtemptations:

1:7Thatthetrialofyourfaith，beingmuchmorepreciousthanofgoldthatperisheth，thoughitbetriedwithfire，mightbefounduntopraiseandhonourandgloryattheappearingofJesusChrist:

1:8Whomhavingnotseen，yelove;inwhom，thoughnowyeseehimnot，yetbelieving，yerejoicewithjoyunspeakableandfullofglory:

1:9Receivingtheendofyourfaith，eventhesalvationofyoursouls.

1:10Ofwhichsalvationtheprophetshaveenquiredandsearcheddiligently，whoprophesiedofthegracethatshouldeuntoyou:

1:11Searchingwhat，orwhatmanneroftimetheSpiritofChristwhichwasinthemdidsignify，whenittestifiedbeforehandthesufferingsofChrist，andtheglorythatshouldfollow.

1:12Untowhomitwasrevealed，thatnotuntothemselves，butuntoustheydidministerthethings，whicharenowreporteduntoyoubythemthathavepreachedthegospeluntoyouwiththeHolyGhostsentdownfromheaven;whichthingstheangelsdesiretolookinto.

1:13Whereforegirduptheloinsofyourmind，besober，andhopetotheendforthegracethatistobebroughtuntoyouattherevelationofJesusChrist;

1:14Asobedientchildren，notfashioningyourselvesaccordingtotheformerlustsinyourignorance:

1:15Butashewhichhathcalledyouisholy，sobeyeholyinallmannerofconversation;

1:16Becauseitiswritten，Beyeholy;forIamholy.

1:17AndifyecallontheFather，whowithoutrespectofpersonsjudgethaccordingtoeverymanswork，passthetimeofyoursojourninghereinfear:

1:18Forasmuchasyeknowthatyewerenotredeemedwithcorruptiblethings，assilverandgold，fromyourvainconversationreceivedbytraditionfromyourfathers;

1:19ButwiththepreciousbloodofChrist，asofalambwithoutblemishandwithoutspot:

1:20Whoverilywasforeordainedbeforethefoundationoftheworld，butwasmanifestintheselasttimesforyou，

1:21WhobyhimdobelieveinGod，thatraisedhimupfromthedead，andgavehimglory;thatyourfaithandhopemightbeinGod.

1:22SeeingyehavepurifiedyoursoulsinobeyingthetruththroughtheSpirituntounfeignedloveofthebrethren，seethatyeloveoneanotherwithapureheartfervently:

1:23Beingbornagain，notofcorruptibleseed，butofincorruptible，bythewordofGod，whichlivethandabidethforever.

1:24Forallfleshisasgrass，andallthegloryofmanastheflowerofgrass.Thegrasswithereth，andtheflowerthereoffallethaway:

1:25ButthewordoftheLordendurethforever.Andthisisthewordwhichbythegospelispreacheduntoyou.

2:1Whereforelayingasideallmalice，andallguile，andhypocrisies，andenvies，allevilspeakings，

2:2Asnewbornbabes，desirethesinceremilkoftheword，thatyemaygrowthereby:

2:3IfsobeyehavetastedthattheLordisgracious.

2:4Towhoming，asuntoalivingstone，disallowedindeedofmen，butchosenofGod，andprecious，

2:5Yealso，aslivelystones，arebuiltupaspiritualhouse，anholypriesthood，toofferupspiritualsacrifices，acceptabletoGodbyJesusChrist.

2:6Whereforealsoitiscontainedinthescripture，Behold，IlayinSionachiefcornerstone，elect，precious:andhethatbelievethonhimshallnotbeconfounded.
